The challenge
InsideOut is Australia’s national institute for research and clinical
excellence in eating disorders. They help people with eating disorders
in Australia, and aim to ultimately find a cure.
InsideOut approached Exogee to rejuvenate their digital presence and
find a better way to target all three of their audience classes:
practitioners, researchers, as well as those suffering from eating
disorders. All three needed content curated to their circumstance
while having it available in a single place. This made designing the
information architecture extremely challenging.
The solution
The Exogee team worked closely with InsideOut and UI/UX designers to
rebuild their digital presence, content management system (CMS), and
interactive user portal from the ground up. We expertly managed a high
degree of complexity and an evolving scope whilst delivering a fast,
beautiful and responsive web presence on time and within budget. The
platform was built with React.js, Gatsby and NetlifyCMS. The solution
implements server-side rendering allowing search engines to easily
find, understand and index the site correctly (ie. SEO).
The result was a modern online library of articles, video media as
well as an interactive directory of practitioners. Registered users
are provided access to self assessment tools, as well as a directory
of eating disorder specialised practitioners for support. They are
also able to tag and favourite content they would like to keep track
of, managing their own curated list of content. InsideOut backend
staff can produce and publish new content as well as manage existing
content via the CMS.
The value
With a unified, high-performant and maintainable digital presence,
InsideOut can now ensure years of accumulated scientific research
reach those that benefit the most. They also have a platform to make
announcements and engage with their audiences like never before. The
modern architecture allows new features and sections to be delivered
easily.
